I am a friendly, mature, and dependable, 56-year old woman that has always loved caring for children. I had my first babysitting position at the age of 11 caring for a neighbor's two children, aged 2 and 4 years old, while their mother went to "skinny school". My mom was right next door but, I never needed her help. When I was 12 years old, I was working full-time during the summer months just up the street from my house. Of course, I had to start school again in the autumn, and the woman had to hire someone else, but she still used my services occasionally in the evening. This began regular babysitting throughout my neighborhood as word of how responsible and reliable I was spread by word of mouth. Their children always loved me as much as I loved them. At the age of 20, I had my own Read more child...a son...who I am proud to say now serves in the U.S. military. My son has thanked me more than once for being a great mom and preparing him for life. When I was 30, I began serving in the Sunday School Department at my church...first with the newborns, then the toddlers, and I have now taught in the 3-year-old class for the past 23 years. Over those years, I continued to be hired to care for the children of many families in my church. In addition to the background checks that sittercity does, I am more than happy to provide references from the families for whom I worked, as well as from the head of the Sunday School Department. I also want to assure you that I love animals as well and would enjoy taking care of your pets, too. After all, they're part of the family, right? In addition, you will not return home to a mess. I am willing to do light housekeeping and anything that happens in the normal course of the day, such as cleaning up after your pet's accidents, and making sure you don't trip on any toys when you walk in the door. I look forward to meeting you and your child(ren), as well as giving you the peace of mind that all is well at home while you are focusing on your job, or enjoying a night out....or maybe even going to "skinny school". ;)
