I began as a mothers helper at the age of 16, working with two young boys (one of which diagnosed with autism). I then continued to work with 4-5 year olds at a summer camp for children with developmental disabilities, as well as babysitting a boy (diagnosed with ASD) from the ages of 3-6 (whom I still keep in touch with the family). Some of my college coursework for my practicum class included teaching kindergarten to first grade students about the Multiple Intelligence curriculum. Post graduation from Bloomsburg University I worked at BARC Developmental Services at a preschool in Croydon, PA. The children in the classes encompassed a range of high to low functioning children with IEPs of different developmental abilities. I was responsible for assisting the teacher, working on the children goals, working with them on grooming needs, etc. I also keep in contact with a couple of families Read more to babysit during my other available time. I work full-time as a Case Manager for individuals primarily diagnosed with an intellectual disability. I am CPR and First Aid trained as well as up to date with child abuse and criminal background clearances. I am passionate about working with children, and I believe in meaningful playtime activities while building a strong and comfortable bond with them. I am seeking weekend hours currently.
