I'm a retired special education and preschool teacher. I've been a nanny for 12 years with five different families. The first family I started with had a boy who was three months old and his sister joined us when he was about 3 years old, so I had been with her since birth and stayed with them till they entered school. Three of the other families I worked with had twins who were approximately 6 months old when I started working with them and stayed with them till they entered school. During these years of caring for the children I was able to take them on many outings such as music time, libraries, story time, playgrounds, swimming lessons, etc. I have kept in touch with these families and on occasion help them out when a need arises. I am looking for another wonderful family to work for part time. I Read more also taught after school art classes for homeschooling families and at the Crandall house in Ashaway for public school children. I have a masters degree in special education and a bachelor's degree in art as well as my certification in elementary education. I have been blessed to work in all three fields and continue to use my knowledge and experience with the nanny and babysitter positions.
