Currently, as a Teacher Assistant (Behavior Specialist Assistant) in both first and second-grade autism classrooms, I support the classroom teacher by implementing the curriculum that supports each student's individualized IEP goals. My responsibilities in the classroom include using de-escalation strategies, reinforcing positive behavior, redirecting students, and modeling social and emotional skills. I bring interpersonal qualities of empathy, patience, and adaptability which helps me to build rapport and trust with students. I am currently pursuing an Associate of Arts in General Studies with a concentration in Education and Human Services degree, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026. I plan to continue my education towards becoming a speech pathologist. I am passionate about ensuring that each child is on the right path of their education by providing the right accommodations for them to succeed.
