I come from a family of six children, of which four of them are younger than me. Growing up, I always had to take care of them. That experience helped me develop my love of helping others and working with children. During my last two years of high school, I spent the summer in Chicago with my older sister who was working as a preschool teacher at the time. I volunteered at the preschool for a few weeks each summer. The first summer, I volunteered in the toddler room and the second summer I volunteered in the junior kindergarten room. That experience taught me how to work with children of different ages and how to accommodate their needs at various levels of development. In addition, I babysat for many people in my neighborhood.
