Hello, my name is Abby Jean Sprouse I’m 24 years old. I am first and foremost a mom to a handsome little 3 year old boy. I am also a soon to be step mother to my fiancés 2 children (girl aged 6, boy aged 7). Occupationally right now I mainly just babysit, DoorDash here and there, and stay home with my kids. Before the life of side hustles and SAHM I was a preschool teacher for around 3-4 years and ever since I was 13 I’ve volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and assistant at my home church, I’ve also volunteered as a Christian camp councilor for many years during summer, and I’ve babysat several times through the years. Personally I do not do a lot of tv or screen time with my children and we are a “healthier household” meaning no junk foods unless it’s special occasions and we only eat foods that are mostly dye and chemical free. Whenever I babysit I do implement “circle/learning time” especially with my preschoolers and kindergartners. We learn our colors, shapes, number and letter recognition, counting, basic ASL signs, and we do story time. Learning time is usually about 30-45 minutes a day broken into 15 minute groups and I fine tune the learning to the age of the child and what they already know. Also being a Christian I do teach faith based curriculum, however I do not teach my faith unless the parents are comfortable with it and I don’t teach children about the “gruesomer parts of the Bible”. I have my early childhood certificates for ECD 101, 102, and a few others. Now all that being said one last thing I would like to mention is I prefer to take on children in my own home. I cannot come to another persons home unless it fits in with my children’s school schedule but I can most definitely take on children in my home at any time Mondays - Fridays.
