I have been in the medical field for 14yrs. I've worked as a Medical Assistant at a Family Practice office, Pediatrics office in which I was actually the nurse, and several home health facilities. During this time working at the offices, I loved it, but Something just didn't just sit right with me. I wanted more than just the caring of the patients in the office. I wanted to also offer them companion care and just that one on one in helping them and caring for them. So, I finally made the decision to stick with being a caregiver. You might be thinking why education and money wise, but I had to just follow my heart. It brings me so much more joy when I can help a person mentally or physically enhance. I've had a client that who lost her husband and was just sitting in the same chair, Read more not taking much or being active. To make it short she got up and about, laughing, and just starting to enjoy life again. You see that's the kind of person I am and as for the kids I still see a lot of my patients from the pediatrics office I worked for 7 years, and they always run up to me and give me a hug and say I miss you. Then I'm faced with the question why you left and my heart drops. A lot of people don't realize that children only need to be loved and respected as well. Just talking to them and helping them with whatever may be bothering will help them as they grow and also make them happy. They are so smart it's unbelievable and really brings me joy to help out in any way. Caring and helping others if my life and I love it!!!
