I have been babysitting for 17 years. I am born & raised from Michigan. Most of my professional experience was in Michigan, but when I moved to South Carolina in 2012 I then became a full time nanny. I was caring for a total of 4 children, ages newborn, 3, 5, and 10 (2 boys & 2 girls). I started off by watching the kids 4 days a week starting at 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM. My duties included running errands, housekeeping, (laundry, dishes, mopping, vacuuming, and organizing) as well as pet care (2 dogs and 3 cats). After 6 weeks my responsibilities increased by watching the children 7 days a week. I taught the young boy how to walk, and we practiced reading & writing every day by using my creative skills by making Jeffrey his own “words sand box” which helped tremendously as it’s a fun way to Read more learn. I treat every child differently because every person is different & it’s best to teach them that when they’re young & that it’s okay to be different because being different isn’t a bad things it’s actually a good thing because everybody is unique in their own way. With the little girl we would read books daily for her to practice reading, writing & spelling. We would play a game where you fish out each letter to spell out the word so it’s a fun & different approach to learning which helped to keep her focused. I taught the kids that nothing in life comes free & that hard work & dedication are keys to success. I also taught them that nobody is too important to be nice. Kindness goes a long way and I personally showed the children that there needs to be more light in this world so shine bright and don’t ever look back! While babysitting I truly enjoy all my time with the kids. I don't have any children yet, but it excites me to know that one day I will have my own children. Until then I care for the children as if they were my own. I hope to be able to meet great families and become one of your babysitters. It would truly be a blessing. I'm very good with pet's as well (dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, turtles, fish etc.) All around being around children and helping them to grow into their own unique personalities is something I feel the most comfortable doing because it's something I love and have passion towards.
