I have been babysitting for different families for 2-3 years now and I have cared for my younger siblings and cousins when I was younger. I have also worked at a children’s tutoring center and in the childcare room at the YMCA gym so I have experience with children of all ages. I enjoy babysitting and getting to know the families that I babysit for.

I am a mom to 6 grown children. I am also a former elementary PE teacher and middle school coach. When caring for babies cuddling, singing, and reading is a fun way to spend awake times. I know that toddlers and big kids want to stay active and busy! Things I love- being outside, going on nature walks, bike rides and back yard explorations, finding frogs and lizards and making collections of beautiful leaves and rocks. I love birds, throwing baseball, shooting basketball, kicking soccer balls, throwing frisbees and footballs, jumping rope and coloring with side walk chalk. While inside coloring, playing with play doh and reading are my favorites. I enjoy sitting along side as legos or other sorts of creations are developed. I am an undefeated candy land opponent :). I am interested in part time jobs, covering for date nights, one time stays and possibly occasional overnights. Pets are fine with me.

It’s a questionnaire that was developed by doctors and researchers for caregivers and parents use to assess various ages of development (2 mos-60 mos) to understand and monitor the various ages of development which are: Communication, Gross & Fine Motor, Problem-solving abilities & Personal & Social skills. Their research is still going and updates are applied as they learn more about the development of young children. Childcare also teaches you all about keeping children safe. Background checks, safety drills, food safety, playground safety, (teaching them about strangers, knowing a parents phone number and their address, if old enough). So I’ve got that covered for a family’s peace of mind. I believe the brightness and color in the world is from the light of kids. They bring joy and life-changing lessons. Personally, my biggest rule is that kids deserve respect, too. They are the future of this world, so I take much pride in making sure they get great care. I've been babysitting since I was 14, I also volunteered at a church for years, teaching Bible studies on sundays and I helped coach gymnastic special Olympics team and traveled with them to compete. In the 2023 I was a paid full time caregiver for a newborn- toddler for a little over a year, from wake up to 5-6pm and getting ready to wind down for dinner. During my time at school, I took childhood development classes and was certified for CPR. I enjoy taking care of kids and showing them the good things in life, and I have had many different experiences.

My child care philosophy is based on the importance of connecting, be empathetic, and being consistent. I love working with children because of their curiousity and enthusiasm for life. If they want something they go for it. These are qualities that need be nurtured and encouraged. They are amazed by the world and all the opportunities it provides and we are here to help them develop emotionally, physically, and mentally to be able to achieve life goals. I encourage exploration; try new foods, turn the rock over and see what is under it, make that craft. I’m there guide and say okay we used the scissors but if we run with the scissors there’s a likely chance we could get hurt. Make chalk drawings on the sidewalk but the street is for cars and here’s is why. To teach in a manner that is kind but will also be remembered and then always enforce and be consistent with those teachings. For newborns and infants I focus connection and including them in daily life. To help them touch water from the sink, to feel the puppies fur, to hold grass and smell flowers. To go places and see new things. To introduce them to children, go to reading class learn to sit still for 5 minutes at a time. To know that they have someone that cares about their needs and emotions. For the parents and the childcare provider its important to have open communication and relay information as needed. If necessary to create schedules so the parents know what’s going on and where or if plans change, send a quick text. “Hey, Sarah’s being a extra cranky we are leaving the reading class and going home to check her temperature and see what’s going on. I’ll send you an update soon”. I love working with families to create a worry free, happy, and healthy lifestyle for their children.

I am a Medical Assistant who quit her full time job to work part time. I have a husband and dog at home and I am the proud grandmother of 3 boys ages 6, 2 and 19 months. I am willing to be a date night sitter or pick up kids to do whatever needed. I don't mind light housekeeping or meal preparation. I work with youth in our church and enjoy children very much. I have infant CPR training and I enjoying singing , counting and in general playing with children. I am firm with children as far as sticking to the rules that parents have set for their children but I am not a tyrant who is unreasonable, but I believe that a child care worker should hold the standards that the parent holds for the children while in my care.
