I am an energetic 42yr old single woman who has worked with children of all ages all my life from several churches children's ministries on staff & also with pre teens and youth ministries as well as to special needs children & adults. I have even worked on developing churches children's curriculum materials. I have been a live in nanny for my former pastors two youngest children as their full time nanny, did all cooking & housework, errands etc and full care of children as parents traveled alot and out of the country frequently. I also lived with and cared for an associate pastors children whose wife was a country music entertainer who also traveled. In this case I was additionally a roommate at the time and more as an extended family member -as a 2nd mom for the children while parents/ worked & traveled. I have a special needs Read more sister and have worked with and taught special needs children and adults all my life most recently a few years ago caring for a downs syndrome teenage girl after her mother passed from cancer. It was a major transition for her and her father, as the mother took care of most of her raising and all the home needs, cooking/ housework and all home management needs. Essentially I had to take over the home for the father and the training/nurturing of the young girl helping them both transition during a very difficult time. I love working with infants and toddlers also. At one former church I was the 2yr old teacher for several years. I have also taught intermittently at three preschools on and off over the years. I believe everything a child sees, hears or feels is a seed in their life. I feel it is an privilege to be part of that. Lots of books! Learning, exploring and interacting is a constant! I believe every child's mind even if an infant needs lot of positive stimulation & multifaceted experiences that help shape not only knowledge development but their self esteem, confidence & self security... as well as knowing they always have the love and safety of their parents and also those around them like myself that God has entrusted to surround them with the encouragement, mentoring, nurturing and cheer leading of their most crucial developmental years.
