Hi, I'm Mazie! I would love to babysit for your family and allow you some time to relax. I am a current Junior in college with a 4.0 GPA, studying Psychology and Business. Through my studies, I have developed an interest in childhood psychology and the best ways to care for children. While I don't yet have paid experience with kids, I would love to begin babysitting officially! As such, my hourly rate reflects my current lack of expertise. With that being said, I have plenty of unpaid experiences with children through volunteering. For example, I have tutored elementary and middle school children in English and mathematics. I have also volunteered as a bunny mascot for the Memphis Zoo's Halloween ZooBoo event, which was such a uniquely thrilling experience that the kids adored. Safety comes first, and as such I am Red Cross certified in Child/Adult CPR and First Aid. Read more Additionally, I have completed Advanced Child Care Training with Red Cross. My personal hobbies include making art of all kinds, sewing and jewelry-making, reading, outdoor activities, and learning about the world around me. I think that creativity and an interest in learning are two of the most important things in life, and I love encouraging it in others, especially children. Other caregiving skills that make me a good fit for your family include quick problem-solving abilities, modeling positive behavior and reactions, correcting misbehavior appropriately and calmly, choosing appropriate activities for children based on age and interests, and acting quickly in an emergency.
