Hi Everyone! I am currently a teacher at a private institution, for 8th and 10th grades. Last year, I taught 8th and 10th grades. In the past, I have volunteered within my religious community and local community as a teacher (Grades 4-6, and 7th and 10th) and mentor for adolescents from ages 13-17. My experience with children and young adults began in 2005 and I have loved and grown from all of my experiences thus far. I have obtained a Double Masters from the Institute of Education at the University of London (on a 2 year scholarship), MTeach and MA Secondary Curriculum (what I teach at current private institution). I have a great deal of experience in various schools. I also have a BA in English Literature with a minor in Sociology from the University of Houston. I also have a great deal of experience with special needs children and Read more adults (mostly with hearing impairments, learning disabilities and autism), especially as one of those gems is my very own older sister! During my undergrad years, I worked at a Vet for 4 years, so I have a STRONG love for pets, especially dogs. I enjoy inquiry-based learning strategies, project-based learning and storytelling. Learner motivation and engagement is also very important to me. I would love to do hands on activities and projects, conduct games, watch movies/fun shows, teach chores and have intriguing discussions with young people.
