I began care giving at the age of 12, watching two toddlers that lived down the street from me while their mom would run errands. Ever since then, my love for children has only grown. By the time I was a sophomore in high school, I was a nanny for three elementary age children. I also had the privilege of being the frequent caregiver for a family of five children (ages: 1, 4, 10, 12, 15) when I was a senior in high school. After that, I was an overnight caretaker for a sweet 11 year old girl for about a year, and most recently I watched a 2 year old off and on when needed. I've watched children ranging ranging from 6 months to 15 years old. Not a whole lot makes me happier than being able watch a child learn, and seeing them stumble and grow through life. Read more I am open and happy to care for any child, regardless of age or abilities. I am CPR/ AED and First Aid certified with a background in Wilderness First Aid as well as backcountry guiding. I am also a researcher in the Sociology Department at the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on Criminal Justice reform. I am currently working on research and an academic paper on rules of the courtroom in Texas. I also just finished a two year internship in Austin at SAFE Alliance, which is a non profit that seeks to end all violence. My role at SAFE was educational activism, where my team and I would go to high schools and discuss healthy boundaries in relationships. I love the outdoors, climbing, and helping others. I adore learning and teaching, and I believe both are central in intentional care giving for children.
