Hi! My name is Emily. I'm back in Austin after four years. I'm currently a freelance copywriter and I'm always looking for ways to earn a little extra money and get out of the house. In addition to freelancing, I'm also a private English tutor for middle and high schoolers. Prior to moving back to Austin, I spent three years teaching English in Vietnam. Most of my childcare experience has been as a teacher and tutor. I also have a niece (19mo as of November '22) whom I adore! My philosophy with kids is to join them in their world, establish clear expectations and boundaries, and get them out into the world as much as possible. As a babysitter, I try to get the kids out of the house when I can, whether it's a walk around the block or a "field trip" to an easy trail. I have a safe vehicle and I'm a very careful driver after three years in Saigon motorbike traffic! I'd love to help your child with their homework, reading, extracurricular activities, games and sports, and imaginative play. I really love seeing children thrive in the environments we create for them. I should mention that I'm also available for housesitting. I work from home so as long as you have an internet connection, I can be around to hang out with your pets, water the plants, and collect packages.
