Hello! My name is Chloe, and as the oldest of 4 children, in a way, I have been doing child care my whole life. On a professional level though, I began babysitting when I was 16 and have been working with children ever since. I have served as a lifeguard and swim coach at my local pool, where I had the opportunity to empower children with the invaluable ability to swim. Thanks to this job, I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have also worked as an afterschool counselor with elementary to middle school children of varying academic and social abilities and helped to tutor them and lead them through enriching play activities. In high school, I founded my schools chapter of the Best Buddies Club, which fosters one-to-one friendships between special education and general education students. I have continued working with this program ever since, and, through this, Read more have gained a unique skill set for working with children of all ability levels. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in psychology. During my studies, I focused on child development, and I use the insight and empathy gained through those classes every day in my work. This past year I served with the AmeriCorps as a reading specialist at a local middle school where I taught in both English and Spanish. I just finished my term of service and am looking for work while I figure out what’s next. I really enjoy children and the energy that they bring, and I look forward to getting to know your child!
