[I have since moved back to my college town and have yet to update my profile, I apologize for any inconveniences!] Hi families! My name is Cristina, I am 19 years old and have over 4 years of experience working with kids. I am currently enrolled at the University of North Texas in Denton and I am home in Austin for the summer (until late August). I can help with light housekeeping, tutoring, shuttling, and errands. I own a car and have been driving since 16 and have never gotten into an accident or a ticket. My hobbies include painting, sculpting, drawing, and many other mediums of art. I love introducing children to different art techniques and would be more than willing to supply art supplies and crafts occasionally. I'm passionate about making sure children spend plenty of time outdoors and I am an excellent swimmer. My favorite form of Read more play with children is imaginative, story-building games. I absolutely love children and get along with all different kinds of kids. I am extremely patient and caring, but can be firm when I need to. Background on my experience working with children: I have over four years of experience babysitting children ages 1-12. I have over four years of experience tutoring/ teaching kids ages 6-12. My sophomore year of high school I traveled abroad to help disadvantaged students and teachers in a classroom in Guatemala. I am not fully fluent in Spanish, but I know enough to keep a conversation going and reply back in English. During the summer of my sophomore year of high school, I babysat and tutored two Russian children and taught them English to prepare for kindergarten. My junior year of high school, I spent a month student-teaching a first grade classroom at River Ridge Elementary. Due to COVID during my senior year, I have been on a bit of a hiatus, but I am fully vaccinated and excited to care for children again. I just finished my first year of college with a 4. 0 GPA as a major in Education. I plan to become an Elementary school teacher.
