Hello there, potential family! My name is Jordan and I am currently a Physical Education teacher for Austin ISD at an elementary school in North Austin. I serve and watch over 500 students, aged anywhere from 4 - 12 years old, and most of all, I absolutely love what I do. I have been working with kids professionally for almost 6 years now and before that, I worked on and off as a babysitter, nanny, and basketball AAU coach. I first worked with kids as a camp counselor for Sky Ranch in 2013 and then nannied for a family in Waco during my junior and senior years of college. Following that, I babysat for multiple families in Austin (post college) and also coached a couple of AAU basketball teams for a club called Magic. From 2012 - 2016, I went to college at Baylor University located in Waco, Texas, and Read more moved to Austin after I graduated in 2016. I have a degree in Corporate Communication Studies and Marketing, as well as a minor in Kinesiology/Physical Education EC - 12th Grade. During college, I was in a sorority called Pi Beta Phi and many different academic clubs/organizations. Throughout my life I have played sports and love the cooperation, teamwork, and sportsmanship aspects I learned firsthand. Simply put, I love to be active and I consider it to be a huge part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I thrive on routine, high energy, and a busy calendar. The more activities the better (most days), however, I do cherish and understand the importance of rest and recovery. I have my first aid and CPR certifications and am trained in many different areas regarding childcare. Like - (Behavior Management Basics, Child Abuse Mandatory Reporting, Playground Supervision, Bullying: Recognition and Response, Health Emergencies: Seizures, and Health Emergencies: Life-Threatening Allergies...and more) By looking at my current profession and past job experience, anyone can see that I love working with kids of all ages and desire to continue this rewarding work during my summer break and hope that I can with your loving family!
