Hello! My name is Cynthia and originally from Colorado and have been living in Austin for the past 9 years. I have my Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences and a minor in Fine Arts. I love working with children and using my artistic skills to encourage creativity and imagination. I was a nanny for a family in New York for a 6 year old girl and 8 year old boy for 3 years. I picked the kids up from school and walked them home, drove the kids to swim practice in the Hamptons, helped with homework, played at the park and planned Arts & Crafts projects. I was a nanny for 2 boys (7 year old and 10 year old) for 2 years at that same time. I sometimes would take the kids to go to the MET or to the clubhouse during summer break. When I moved to Austin, Read more I was a nanny for a 3 year old boy and a 7 year old boy for a year. We did a lot of Arts & Crafts, playing at the park and helped put the kids to bed at night. I drove the 3 year old to a specialist every day or would pick him up. I am responsible with picking up children on time and practicing all safety rules with car seats and seat belts. I was a Costume Shop Manager for a children's theater for 4 years when I lived in San Diego. I loved making costumes for the young actors and mentoring kids how to sew and construct costumes. I am very passionate about the Arts and sharing the skills I have with the children I nanny or babysit. In addition to my nanny background I have also been a Girls Scout camp counselor and YMCA after school Director for a few years. I now sometimes babysit children for friends here and there. I sometimes will bring art projects or fun activities that they love such as bubbles, animal balloons or art projects.
