As a therapist, I've worked with children over the lifespan to develop fine motor/self-help skills and confidence. I have raised 2 of my own who are now adults. I’m currently a graduate student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I recently earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. Growing up with seven nieces and nephews, I’ve always had a deep love for working with children. Over the years, I’ve gained a wide range of childcare experience—from being a teacher’s assistant for elementary students and babysitting during high school summers, to working at university-led summer camps with elementary-aged kids. During college, I also had the opportunity to volunteer in the special needs ministry at my church, which helped me develop even more patience, empathy, and understanding. I love being a sitter because I've always been good with kids, whether it be the ones in the Sunday School class I'm helping at, watching family friends' kids, and even my own younger siblings! I had been a sitter for about a year, and I absolutely loved it. I was a lifeguard for a waterpark for two summers, and am very well trained with CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and First Aid.
