I have been a mother for over 40 years, I raised my daughter who lived with profound physical and learning difficulties including hearing & sight impairment, quadriplegia, epilepsy and asthma. I have worked with families for over 17years including a family mediation centre working with children who have been separated from their parents and offering intervention and mediation to encourage bonding interaction with the hope of being re-connected and reunited as a functional family. Most of my Nanny work has involved working in the families homes, preparing healthy and balanced meals, coordinating school runs and afterschool activities, encouraging creative play, confidence building and positive communication whilst balancing love and care with fair and constructive discipline practices. My ethos is to work with children as if they were my own and offer the high level of care that I would expect for my own children. Whilst the chilren are in my Read more care, they are my main focus and my ultimate aim is to provide an environment that enables them to develop and grow positively and with the level of support necessary for each individual child. I feel it is crucial to work closely with parents/carers to ensure good communication and trust between both parties. Although I can't work exactly as the parents do I will endeavour to work within their methods and practices to enable consistency and clarity. Understanding the need for boundaries allows a comfortable space for connected relationships, it also allows the children to be expressive and content and enable the parent to feel confident about me caring for their VIP. I am a US citizen & have a social security number to work in the US but I was educated in London, England and have worked in England for most of my adult life and in Texas for the last 11 yrs. I have travelled to and from Texas all of my life and presently reside here from the months of September to April.
