My name is Kelly Gibson and I am a seven year veteran teacher. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2012 and have taught elementary and middle school ELA the last seven years. I have had fifteen years of experience working with children in several different capacities, including two years of teaching pre-K in a multi-needs classroom, three years teaching first grade in a multi-needs classroom, two years of teaching ELA in a 7th grade classroom, five years of coaching 5-12 year-olds on swim team and giving private swim lessons, fifteen years of babysitting, and two years of coaching special olympics basketball. The children I have taught have had a variety of different developmental, intellectual, physical, behavioral and language needs. These include children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, developmental delays, epilepsy, HIV/AIDS, and English language learners. I love animals and am happy to help care for pets as well. I love so many things about working with children. I enjoy getting to know each and every child I work with, creating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for them, and helping them learn and problem solve. In my opinion, there is no job more important or rewarding than helping a child learn, feel happy and successful, and grow to their full potential.
