I have had the opportunity to care for children of all ages from 6 months to 12 years. My most demanding position required meal preparation, school attendance, and daytime supervision for 4 children (ages 3,5,7, and 11), and was scheduled to last one month. Babysitting has not been a regular occupation for me, but I am extremely excited to start using my skills again in order to help pay for classes these next few semesters. I choose to work with kids because it is what I feel at ease doing. Playing with children and learning about who they are, as well as earning their trust and becoming their friend are hard experiences to replace. Although not always cooperative, I believe that a child who feels understood and respected will come to see their experience with a caretaker as positive and something to participate in.
