My Journey for child care services started in my early teens when I worked as the neighbourhood sitter paid by the state of Hawaii for seasons at a time. From this experience I volunteered in after school programs working with elementary school students and my focus of interest was creative arts/ story telling. In college I studied human services and childhood development. I had a deep passion for helping families and the development of a child inspired by my personal experience of not having a supportive home life after loosing my mother at the age of 10. I had a passion for bringing people together and I was curious to learn the details of what makes a happy home. In 2012 my career took me to Texas and my first job was working as an over night nanny for a single military abandoned wife of two kids. I learned so Read more much from this experience. Following this I got into the field of manufacturing serving as a 8 yr supervisor with focus on developing teams. I had a great career. I recently decided to do a “where do I see myself in 5 years? “ evaluation on myself and I found my back back to working with children as a behavioural therapist for children with Autism. My plan is to continue my education in this field so that I can make a difference in a child’s life along with supporting parents/ guardians . I am also wanting to surround myself with more hands on experience working with child care services on my off time to gain more experience and help families in need. When I’m not working I enjoy outdoor activities, sports, reading and learning, cooking, being creative, investing in my creative professional organising business and spending time with my dog Kimi.
