I am 30 years old and have been teaching for almost 8 years. I earned a master's degree in Elementary Education in 2007. I have two teaching certifications: elementary education and special education. I currently work at a public school in Houston as a special education teacher in grades pre-K through 4th. I have the summer off and am seeking a temporary, part-time or as-needed babysitting job. I am first aid and CPR certified. I am also certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). I lived in Massachusetts my whole life until moving to Houston last fall. I have 6 nieces and nephews whom I adore and am very close with. They are ages 1-10. I helped raise the four youngest kiddos and was like a second mother to them! Babysitting was my first job when I was 12 years old. Throughout middle and high school I babysat for many different Read more families in my neighborhood. I've always enjoyed taking are of children which is what inspired me to become a teacher. I am very excited to have children of my own some day! When it comes to care taking, I have done it all! Newborns, multiples, toddlers, school-aged, teens, special needs, etc. I am quite comfortable with changing diapers, helping potty train, naps/bedtime routines, doing overnights, homework help, light cleaning/organizing, cooking, running errands, driving to and from social activities, playing sports, arts and crafts, technology.... just to name a few! As a teacher, I am extremely organized, creative, and believe that children of all ages thrive on structure in school and at home. When I babysit, I prefer following some sort of schedule rather than just "winging it."
