I worked the past 10yrs plus at a Nurse Aid in Texas Medical Center. Worked the past 5yrs at Children's Memorial Hermann in pediatric surgery. I work hands on with children daily, providing comfort and care while parent were away or child came out of surgery. Certified in Adult, Child and Infant CPR plus AED. Have experience with special needs children as well (Autism Council) I was known as "The Baby Whisperer" around the hospital. I enjoyed activities like feeding, rocking to sleep, arts and crafts, music, and form of comfort and distractions from the hospital setting. My goal was to have the child feel as comfortable and safe as possible, even if the parents were not there. I treated my patients as my own children and formed special bonds with many of them.
