I am a 20 year old college student who is one child of 8 in my family. Growing up I have helped my mother raise my sibilings from the time they were born until now. I have a strong belief that a child’s caregiver plays a big role in their future. It is important that a child receives all the support they need to grow and become outgoing, motivated and feel well loved. Children deserve to feel like they are being heard and have my full attention. I like to make them feel important and as though they are on the same level as I am and not as if I am superior to them. Being a friend to the child and making them feel safe is the best way for them to become comfortable with their caregiver.
