Hello, my name is Ashanti McKnight and I love kids so much I'm majoring in interdisciplinary studies--a more experienced way of saying teaching. Haha! From elementary grades I've known I wanted to be a teacher, because I love sharing knowledge I've learned and watching those I teach grow to become stronger individuals mentally and intellectually. Kids really do gravitate to me, because I'm extremely patient and understanding. All too often when I'm working with kids I laugh at myself because I have no problem being silly and kids will often call me silly because I'm being relatable and ensuring they're comfortable and having a good time. Now it's not all fun and games but your child will be having tons of fun but there will definitely always be learning involved. For example, kids ranging from ages 3-8 may want to go outside and play for 30 mins or however so Read more long and I'll make it so we go outside and play. While playing I may point at a tree and ask, "do you see any leaves?", "What color are the leaves?" and, "How does it feel outside today?". Things like this are my ways of ensuring everything we do is beneficial while still having a good time together. When working with kids I try to put myself into their heads and base our time on who that child is, what they enjoy, and what they may struggle with. So, with that being said I would love to be apart of your child's enrichment and growth!
