Meet Sharon

I am the mother of 3 grown children two of which have Intellectual Disabilities but are high functioning socially. I am proud that they both have been working full time for the passing several years. My partner and I adopted our children knowing there was a good chance that Jason and Terra would have a disability, they have the same biological mother. Parenting them taught me so much about these "beings" we call kids. Raising them as a stay at home mother taught me patience, taught me how to be organized, taught me how to do more than one thing at a time, taught me the value of quality time with each child. Most of all parenting them 24/7 I learned what the word "love" means in an intellectual, emotional and spiritual way. Motherhood changed me. I became a better person. Our home was the neighbourhood house where kids came Read more and sometimes spent the night or maybe I would take them all (5 plus my 2) to the movies or just hang with them as they played. Even though my children are adults now when I look back on being a stay at home mother I have no regrets. I am who I am today because of that experience.
