My name is Nicole Vermillion and I am 25 years old. I was raised in southwest Louisiana. I have been married to my husband for 7 years! We have two wonderful children together; ages 6 and 4 months and they are my everything! I was homeschooled from 5-12th grade in Louisiana. Throughout my 4 years of high school I maintained a 4.0 GPA, as well as obtained a diploma through an accredited high school. Then I attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles Louisiana and obtained my BA in Criminal Justice. I have babysat here and there growing-up. However, the majority of my child care-taking experience came firsthand with raising my daughter, who has grown to be a very polite, respectful, intelligent and selfless little girl, who greatly values education and friendship, as well as possesses high morals and values. With that said, I think it is so important to conduct myself in a manner that I would be proud of my daughter and other children copying. My son has already hit several milestones, such as grasping things with his hands, holding his head-up, lifting-up during tummy time, rolling from his tummy to his back, following with his eyes, smiling, laughing, hand/eye coordination with hands and objects and participating in active verbal communication. He is also already able to recognize the sound of certain words and the sign language that goes with these words. For instance, "I love you", eat, milk and change diaper, bath and play. I also previously worked as a veterinarian technician for 4 years in Sulphur Louisiana. Here I was entrusted with administering anesthesia during surgeries, managing inventory and important medical equipment, supervising and training new workers, as well as was given a key to the hospital. After that I began working for the Department of Homeland Security specializing in the area of transportation security for over two years. I just recently resigned from DHS, as I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay home with my children, thanks to my husband's job. So, I chose to seize the opportunity to stay home and offer help to other mommies, who are not wanting their children in a daycare setting; but rather, a more one-on-one oriented environment that is both comfortable and nurturing in order to help children to learn and thrive as mine have.
