I am mother of 2 boys, 11 and 13 and just started the homeschool journey. I studied education at DBU and UNT, aspiring to be a High School Journalism teacher. All through high school and college I worked full time and pre schools, even developing the after school curriculum for 1st - 6th grade for a time. God had other plans for my life that didn't include teaching in a classroom, rather "teaching" life skills and managing student properties which consist of undergrad and graduate students alike. I was blessed to be introduced in the multi-housing industry in 2001 and haven't looked back! Four years into my career, I was promoted to manage student living properties where I serve anywhere from 400 - 1000 UNT and TWU students each year. Basically, not only do I provide them housing, I am a mentor and their "mom away from mom" while they Read more are living at my properties. As my own children have gotten older, I have decided to hang up my career keys to stay at home and homeschool my oldest. This has been a great blessing. I am looking to work only part time in child care. My hours our flexible as we make our own homeschooling schedule, however, I am not wanting to work more than 25 hours per week in order to devote the time needed to my own children.
