Before reading, just wanted to let you know that you can access my FULL background report on Care.com:) Thanks!! My name is Jen. I am a military wife. My husband is retiring this fall. Our kids are teens and no longer need me to be their stay at home mom. We run a small farm where we raise chickens, goats, quail, and grow our own organic fruits and veggies. I am looking for a position where I can watch a couple kids in my own home so that I can still be available should my teens need access to me. I love to teach children about what we do. I have done many things in my life. I was a substitute teacher for elementary school kids for a long time. I love working with and teaching kids. We read a lot of books here and stay very active. I am Read more a member of Russell Rescue so I foster jack Russell terriers. I am also a member of several parrot rescues and networking sites. We have parrots, finches, cats, dogs, and farm animals. I would love to teach your kids about what we do and where their food comes from. I love kids. My friends and family tell me all the time that I m gonna make a great grandmother one day. I like to teach children a love of reading, a respect for animals, how and why to grow food, how to cook and bake- my kids started in the kitchen as soon as they were able to hold a spoon and sit on the counter! I love making homemade treats. I think it is important to teach children where we came from so they will know where they are going. I also think it's important too help them re-establish a love for the land and to spend less time on electronics.
