Hi there! I spent the last year teaching at a local, private preschool. I focused on preparing 3 & 4 year olds for Pre-K, while also having fun. I am the special kind of crazy that actually has really loved the chaos of being with 12 preschoolers all day, every day. At the preschool my role included: being a full-time primary teacher of a large multi-cultural preschool classroom with no assistant. Create curriculum based on Frog Street and Conscious Discipline objectives. -Prepare students academically for pre-kindergarten. -Incorporate academics into play activities during teachable moment opportunities. -Observe company policies, follow Texas Rising Stars requirements, and adhere to licensing standards. -Provide beginning Spanish learning curriculum. Use music and fine arts to support core curriculum/S.T.E.A.M. as well as instill a love of fine arts in each child. -Introduce children to American Sign Language and classical music. -Help children learn basic hygiene and practical Read more skills to become age-appropriately independent. -Teach students social, emotional, and life skills as a foundation for a bright future. -Serve as an adult confidante and advocate for each child on a personal level, as well as an academic level. -Provide a structured and safe environment for children to learn and explore in. I also have many years of nannying/babysitting experience. I started babysitting other children when I was 9 and have consistently worked in childcare in some role or another since then. I am CPR/First Aid Certified and interested in pursuing training in Expressive Arts Therapy for early childhood. I have a background in the Fine Arts, and can teach beginning piano and Classical Singing. I use fine arts as a tool to help engage children, because learning is so much stronger when it's fun! I also put an emphasis on teaching compassion/empathy and flexibility because I believe those skills are the foundation to a better future for us all.
