I have been working with children for over 16 years. My first experience was watching groups of children at a church. I then decided to become a babysitter and nanny and eventually started working in a day care setting. I received my bachelor and master in education and child developement and started working as a teacher for the grade levels 1, 2,3, 4 , 5, 7 and 10. I am a mother to a 5 year old and I volunteer in our church nursery, where I watch up to 10 infants and toddlers at the same time. I now own my own business and love what I do, but I miss working with children! This is my "why". For me, a true child care worker will never depart from this path completely.
