It made me realize how much I love the career and why I study Early Childhood Education to become a kindergarten teacher in the future! I also became CPR certified which is valid for 2 years! Overall babysitting has taught me the joys of little children’s lives and help me want to pursue my career even more!

I’ve been around children for as long as I can remember. Living with a Hispanic family and being the oldest daughter I always got the duty of watching the children at family functions. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind at all in fact when I was younger, I always wanted my own daycare but going into middle school the dream quickly changed but now that I’ve graduated high school. I am attending UTRGV to graduate as an elementary school teacher, along with a special education degree. I have two little brothers age 3 and five and they are my whole world. My five-year-old little brother has autism and ADHD which can be extremely difficult on my family and with that I’ve learned a lot on how to de-escalate and comfort him when needed. I’ve also taught him how to swim completely on my own. I enjoy volunteering at church and participate with the little ones finding new activities and learning about Jesus‘s love. I also participate in the youth group every Wednesday, which has taught me a lot about communicating boundaries as well as being cautious and respectful.
