I am an Artist originally from the PNW. I love nothing more than bringing creativity to kids lives. My goal when taking care of children is to inspire them to be artistic and imaginative. Crafts, projects, drawing, painting, anything you can think of that may be on Pinterest I have likely tried/have the needed items for. One of the things I especially enjoy is getting kids who are device/tv focused to step back and find their artistic side. Even if we do have music or tv on from time to time I always have something going they can join in on. I have many years of childcare experience beginning as a mother's helper in exchange for piano lessons when I was around 10. After that I began to babysit here and there, doing it consistently in middle and high school. In the summer during high school I was an assistant Read more teacher for Dissection/Biology/Animal Behavior courses for Saturday Academy at PSU. After school I still babysat a bit, while mostly focusing on being a nanny for a few families. Working most of the week with the same kids each day, making dinner, doing homework, taking care of the dogs...etc. The next thing I did between work was volunteer on my days off at the Portland Childrens Museum. During my time there I mainly lead activities in the Maker Studio, a space where people donated single use plastics and things like textiles/etc for us to use in art projects. Sustainability is a passion of mine and being able to show kids how to re use things in a creative way was amazing. Since then I moved to Texas in 2020 which made finding jobs in others homes like babysitting/nanny work tough. I'm hoping with things more back to normal now it might be an option. I majorly miss the work and helping shape and form kids in to their best selves with discipline, caring, activities, and learning. I currently live in Plano and do not drive, but my father is retired and is happy to take me. So that means I likely cannot do school pickup, but can meet them at home for the bus. I cook and always clean up, and am happy to help with pets in the home, especially dogs. I have a 70lb mutt so I don't mind them big or small. Sadly I am very allergic to cats, so unless they are kept in an area I won't be in, I may have to skip cat owning homes.
