Since 29 SEP 2014, I have provided care for a little girl in my home; she was 3 months old when I began babysitting for her. The parents of the child practiced "infant potty training" (also known as "trickle treat") so I learned the technique and together we became very successful in teaching the baby to use a toilet (since she was 3 months old). In addition, I learned about baby signing and learned the basics of communicating in that manner with her as a baby. Additionally, we sang songs, read books, practiced writing the alphabet, phonics, counting, drawing, and coloring. Over the last six years, I have served as a nanny or babysitter for five additional families on a regular basis. The number of children in the homes ranged from one child to four at a time; their ages were 7 months to 9 years old. In addition to Read more reading, puzzles, crafts, and singing songs, we spent time cooking/baking together, playing outdoors on swing sets, bird watching, etc. One family I worked for, initially had four boys ranging in age from 2 to 8; three of the boys were foster children and one was adopted. The Mother contacted me asking for my help as the foster children were going into their home in an emergency situation. Primarily, I helped make the boys' breakfast and prepare their lunches for school. The parents also called me for date nights and overnight stays when they had to travel. I was the family's babysitter for five years until they recently moved out of state. Previously, I performed babysitting for neighborhood children during my teens. I also cared for my nieces and nephews (and now grand-nieces and grand-nephews) while they grew up. I worked as an assistant teacher for Montessori schools in Dallas and Bastrop for approximately two years. Additionally, I taught Sunday school to fifth-grade girls and took them on social outings including holding slumber parties for them for two years in San Antonio. Besides babysitting, I am available for errands, shopping, driving to/from doctor appointments, etc. Any additional tasks in your home are negotiable. I will provide personal and business references upon request. Currently, I have one cat which is an indoor/outdoor pet. When I was growing up, we had dogs but they primarily stayed outdoors. If your pets are small or well-trained I am very open to providing loving care for your child (or children).
