Hello, Childcare has been a part of my life for 15 years. I currently work in a church nursery on Sundays with infants to children six years of age. I genuinely love children. I am energetic and imaginative, love playing games, reading, making music, and doing crafts with children. I am highly observant and handle emergencies with confidence and ease. I am also great at organizing. Instilling manners in children is very important to me. I value the many teaching opportunities found in childcare and often review shapes, colors, numbers and the alphabet with children. I love teaching children new words, and also have experience with potty training. I started babysitting my stepbrother's children when I was 10 years old, with my parents' supervision of course. In 2010, I worked as a YMCA counselor for after-school care with 8 to 9-year-olds and helped with other groups as well. I helped Read more with homework, recess, art, science projects, and snack time. I've volunteered for a free summer program for more than 300 children in the immediate area, ranging from infants to 11 years. As a Jr. Volunteer, I supervised arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor games, the swimming pool, and the playground area. The Jr. Volunteers rotated areas, so I have experience with different age groups and activities. I also helped serve lunch and supervised field trips. I helped raise my nephew for his first 2 years before moving. He is 5 years old now. I occasionally babysit my 2 year old niece, and a very energetic 4 year old. I worked as a security personnel for three and a half years. During that time, I gained experience dealing with emergencies. I am also a former Police Cadet, because of this experience, I can provide a safe environment for children and I am very quick to react in emergencies. I am Adult & Pediatric, First Aid, CPR, and AED certified. I have a flexible schedule, am a non-smoker, pet friendly and have reliable transportation. I'm seeking part-time position or occasional care with a wonderful family.
