Hello! Most of my babysitting and caregiver experience has been established over my lifetime through my family. I assist my cousin (diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy after birth) who is now 16 years old. I have been with her during her seizures, changed her colostomy bag as a child, surgeries, etc. In my teenage years, I aided my grandmother (Terminal Colon Cancer) and grandfather (Dementia/Alzheimer's Disease) with their care. Once again, I had to learn how to change my grandmother's colostomy, take their vitals, etc. In my family, I tend to be the "Go To" person when it comes to babysitting/caring for my younger cousins and taking them to their doctor's appointments if necessary. Unfortunately, I am not CPR/AED/First Aid certified but I am working on it! For the past few years, I have been an academic tutor for my younger cousins, Communities in Schools-Heart of Texas, and Girlstart (STEM program Read more for girls). My career goal is to become a Neonatologist but I am in school to study Nursing (Neonatal Nurse and/or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) first and pay my way through medical school. I am a fast learner and can adapt to situations. I will be staying in New Braunfels so finding jobs around this area will be much easier for me.
