My name is Stephen Alvarez and i’m currently 21 years old and attending UTSA, i’ve lived in San Antonio my whole life & attended O’Connor High School and have always loved working with children. The thing I love most about working/helping children is the genuineness along with the endless imagination & curiosity that comes with being a kid. I think the most important thing when looking after or taking care of a child is that they feel loved & safe. In terms of experience i’ve always had my little sister to watch growing up (who is currently 13) but I also have looked out for my moms friends kids throughout growing up & for the past couple years i’ve worked as a “baby sitter” on and off when they need it for a family of 3 (1 elementary school boy, a middle school boy, and a middle school girl) and Read more things I did with them spanned from playing sports or games outside with them, playing video games or watching tv with them, helping them with school work they need help with, drawing or participating in other interests they may have, & etc. To add onto that both my Mom and Grandma are elementary school teachers so being able to connect to kids feels like it kind of runs in my blood & growing up helping them in their classrooms my whole life has given me a lot of insight on how to communicate effectively with children & make sure they’re having a fun time. It’s also given me a wide range of different personality types of kids spanning from super shy to extremely outgoing & talkative. I think what sets me apart from other baby sitters is I truly do enjoy looking after kids & helping them and it’s not just something I do because I want to get paid. I’m also very responsible, never late for anything & am going at fixing things on the fly because you never know what might occur when baby sitting.
