Childcare has been a fundamental part of my life for 15 years. I consider the children I care for my own. I have worked in my current church's nursery since 2011 with infants to children six years of age, and care for my "nursery" children on an as-needed basis. My CPR and First Aid training is current and is renewed every two years. I also volunteer with wounded soldiers most Sunday afternoons. My involvement in childcare started in middle school, when i volunteered in my church nursery. I was then hired in the nursery as a freshman in high school. I cared for children ranging in age from infants to 10 years. We did arts and crafts, imaginative play, went to the playground, read, and watched the occasional movie. Before moving for college, I helped raise my nephew for his first two years. Then, while in college, I participated in Read more community events which affected local children. One year, I helped set up and run games for children during seasonal festivities, another year I completed a Habitat for Humanity project working on a playground, and another year I helped paint the children’s room in a local church. I have a master’s degree in technical communication and am searching for full-time employment in my field, however I am also building a client base for my family care business. Family care is extremely fulfilling for me. I love helping people and being a part of a child's development. Thank you for your consideration.
