Camp Gilmont - Gilmer, TX May 2011 to Present Responsibilities I am a camp volunteer and I take care of special needs kids from 6 months to 17 years. I have handled various special needs from physical to physiological as well as minor cases to overly major cases. I started in 20111 and have been there ever since. The camp is three weekends a year and I am with the kids 72 hours every single camp. Skills Used I use complex communication skills and in some cases have had to make my own communication method to interact with the kids that had a hard time communicating normally. In this field patience is key so over the few years I have volunteered here I have learned ho to have more patience with myself as well as others. Additional I really enjoy my tine working at the camp. Meeting new people and watching the kids grow every year is one of the few really awesome joys in life.
