I am a dental hygienist, a college admissions director, a published author, a baker, a wife, and a mother of two tenderhearted, amazing boys. I am the oldest of 4 and have been involved in childcare since I was 11. Having my own children has only deepened my appreciation and passion for childcare. I practice play-based learning as my oldest is homeschooled. I have a master's degree in education and love taking time for activities, crafts, learning, and outdoor play in our backyard. I work outside of the home 1 day a week and understand it is not easy to leave our children for any amount of time. I hope to make it easier on you and your child by providing a place they love coming to. I offer childcare from my own home in Elk Ridge. This is not a daycare, it is a much smaller scale. I loved the exposure he had with 2-3 other children and the photos that were sent to me every day, as well as the activities and crafts he did, all he learned, the new toys he'd play with, and the new food he would be more open to trying with someone different. He loved getting to go to our babysitter's house and got along so well with her children. It truly helped him be more rounded. I have a 5 year old and an 8 month old. My availability for the summer is Tuesday - Saturday. This may not be exactly what you had in mind and may only work for some of the days you are looking to find someone for, but I wanted to reach out to provide another option for you! I am happy to give you a tour of my home and do a test day if you'd like to see if it's a good fit. I have a play/classroom, large backyard/playground area, two nap rooms with a bed in each as well as a crib, extra monitors, extra car seats, extra high chair, a double stroller/wagon, wonderful friends for your child with my own children, and will provide meals. As a dental hygienist, I am very aware of infection control, safety, and cleanliness. As an educator, I'm aware of how important it is to cultivate in our children a love for art, play, storytelling, reading, nature, and music while giving equal attention and safe spaces for play.
