I have been living in Salt Lake for the past six years, and I am originally from Maui, Hawaii! I am currently a singer-songwriter for my band, Moodlite, and babysit/nanny as well. I cared for two kiddos (starting at 1 and 3 y/o) my first four years in SLC until they grew up and started going to school full time! Now I nanny a precious almost 3 year old, and have been with her for almost 2.5 years. As her daycare hours have increased, I’ve started to work more part time during evenings and occasional weekends. I’ve worked in childcare for as long as I can remember, and it’s truly one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experience for me. I studied behavioral biology at Willamette University in Salem, OR, and was a Webber Scholar during my senior year of college, designing science lessons and teaching them to fifth grade public school students in the Salem area. After I graduated, I became a Registered Behavior Technician, working with children with autism in Pleasanton, CA. During this experience, I learned a tremendous amount about child behavior and all of the different ways that children interact with the environment and the people around them. I absolutely love getting to know each child on an individual level and learn what they like and don't like, how they learn, and all about the healthiest ways to play and grow with them. I have extensive experience with most all realms of childcare, including feeding, bathing, nighttime care, indoor and outdoor play, group care, creative activities, and help with homework and tasks around the house! I love music and art and think it's really important to engage with children creatively. I have such a special place in my heart for children and always feel like my time spent caring for them is equally as beneficial for me as it is for them. I am more than happy to connect you with the two families I’ve worked with in SLC and have them share their experiences. I am hoping to find another part time nanny position where I can continue to work on my music and spend time with the kiddos I’ve grown with!
