I am a recent graduate from Lynchburg College, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Psychology in May 2015. I have always loved watching children. My first babysitting job was for a 5-year-old when I was 15. Since then I have watched a wide range of children. I have volunteered at the YMCA, watching 3-month-olds to 5 years olds. I nannied for a family for five weeks who had four children ranging from 3 years old to 9 years old. This job required me to make lunches and sometimes dinner. Throughout the five weeks I took the children to a waterpark, a park, and play place. While watching kids, I love to think of creative things to do that can get everyone involved, whether it's crafts, games, or sports. Keeping a child's mind and body busy during the day always makes for a relaxing night! I have coached 5-year-olds in Read more soccer and softball; however, I love to play anything that they show interest in. This summer I am working at a camp for children with disabilities, which will help broaden my experience and knowledge revolving around children. I believe that my background in Psychology really prepares me for anything that may occur while babysitting. I have learned a lot in regards to the development of a child and ways in which they can excel. In addition to my psychology background, I do have a love for children that is represented in my previous experience.
