• Comfortable with pets

I come from a large family with lots of younger cousins (ages ranging from infant to 9 years old) who I have looked after their whole lives. In addition to looking after cousins, I was a camp counselor for 2 summers at Headfirst Summer Camps in Washington DC, regarded as one the most well-run, reliable camps in the DC metro area according to the Washington Business Journal where i was also CPR certified. I also volunteered at an organization called Reading Partners through my high school where I mentored inner city youth (2nd-4th grade) and assisted them with various schoolwork and reading comprehension. I have always loved to teach and mentor kids ever since I picked up my first baby cousin, and that love has only grown as I've watched them grow. I had amazing babysitters as a child who really helped shape who I am today, and I aim Read more to have that same impact and whoever's children are in my care. They were constantly reading and singing to me and encouraging me to explore and express myself in new ways, all things that I am eager to share. But above all else is your child's safety. There is nothing more important in my own life than family, and when your child is in my care (and even when I'm away from them), they are family.
