Hello parents! I enjoy working with kids of all ages, and love watching them learn. I've been sitting for many families (50+) in the area for the last few years, and I also have a Masters of Education (Elem. Ed.) from George Mason. Over the past 14 years I’ve worked with children in a variety of roles, including: -- Occasional babysitting (2010-2024) - Ages 2-10 -- FCPS - Internship (3rd/5th grade) and sub teaching (2010-2013) -- Private tutoring Since I am a male sitter, I’d be a great fit for those with boys that like to build legos, conduct science experiments, and play outdoor games and sports! I also enjoy and have lots of experience babysitting younger children and toddlers, as young as 30 months. Note: I prefer to babysit for children between the ages of 2.5-10. Since I currently work full time, my schedule is limited to just occasional afternoons, evenings and weekends. I consider myself professional, caring, reliable, and fun! I have a variety of good references and all the sitter basics: [background check, transportation, non-smoking, references, etc.] Thank you for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Andrew watched our 4-year-old and 18-month-old boys, and he was absolutely fantastic. He arrived prepared with crafts, toys, board games, and plenty of creative activities to keep them engaged and entertained. He has a calm, positive demeanor, and both of our boys connected with him right away. Andrew is incredibly patient, attentive, and reliable, and he followed all of our instructions carefully, especially when it came to their bedtime routine. We felt completely at ease knowing our children were in his care. We highly recommend Andrew and would gladly hire him again.

Hello Parents, I am a 35 years old and have been working with children since I was 14. I have experience as a nanny, house manager, personal assistant, babysitter, house sitter and pet sitter. I am the oldest of six children and have experience with special needs, food and drug allergies. I specialize in infants and toddlers and take a special interest in children with anxiety. I have worked for several families long term as well as on call, part time, and date nights. My favorite thing about watching children is watching them grow, learn and discover new and great things about the world around them. I believe that routine is very important when it comes to raising children and having a regular caregiver that knows them, their habits, their likes and dislikes makes a huge difference! I am comfortable with homework help, drop off and pick up, taking children to activities as well as inventing activities, potty training, feeding, cooking, cleaning, laundry and more. In addition to this I am also featured on the Sittercity activities blog! I very much look forward to hearing from you!

Hi! I have 5 siblings, and a pet chinchilla 😊 Moved from Upstate New York to Virginia recently! Cared for children with special needs under AIMS for about 2 years. Volunteered at a Sunday/Friday Private School for the past four years. I can work immediately. Full time, part time; you name it! Available weekdays and weekends, 8 am till overnight if needed. Can be flexible with timings. I am CPR certified. I know how to use an EpiPen. Won’t be able to do pick up/drop off. $35-$40 an hour would be ideal. Open to negotiations!

My training includes certifications in CPR and First Aid, which ensure that I can respond effectively in emergencies. I also completed a child development course, giving me insights into age-appropriate activities that promote learning and growth as a college student majoring in Elementary Education. I have worked with children from ages newborn to 12 years old. My past experiences have equipped me with the skills to manage various situations, from daily routines to special occasions, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for the children I care for.

I love being a sitter because it allows me to make a positive impact on families by providing safe, engaging, and nurturing care for children. I have experience as a sitter for multiple families, caring for children ranging from infants to pre-teens. Additionally, my role as a Taekwondo instructor has strengthened my skills in communication, patience, and behavior management with children of various ages. I am certified in CPR and basic first aid, ensuring I can respond to emergencies effectively. My background in customer service as a bubble tea barista has further developed my multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills, all of which are essential in childcare settings.

Rhonda N.

Hello! My name is Rhonda, and I am a Virginia native with a genuine passion for caring for children and supporting families. As the oldest of six girls, nurturing others has always been a natural part of who I am. After transitioning from a career in finance, I followed my heart into childcare, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. For more than 16 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children of all ages—from newborns and infants to school-aged children—including those with special needs. Throughout my career, I have worked with private families and nanny agencies as a Professional Nanny, Household Manager, ROTA Nanny, Night Nanny, and in the role of a Newborn Care Specialist, building lasting relationships founded on trust, reliability, discretion, flexibility, and compassionate care. What I value most about being a nanny is the opportunity to build meaningful, lasting connections with the children and families I serve. Whether working in a traditional nanny role, providing overnight newborn care, or supporting families on a ROTA schedule, I strive to provide consistency, stability, and seamless care that allows children to thrive. While safety is always my highest priority, I believe children flourish when they feel loved, understood, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and free to explore the world around them. My caregiving style is Montessori-inspired, encouraging independence, self-confidence, hands-on learning, and age-appropriate exploration. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences through everyday activities while supporting each child’s natural curiosity, emotional well-being, and developmental milestones. Compassion and service have always been deeply rooted in my family. My parents dedicated more than 45 years to caregiving, teaching my siblings and me the importance of kindness, patience, integrity, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Those values continue to guide the care I provide every day. When I’m not caring for children, I enjoy spending quality time with my three granddaughters, reading, walking, dancing, volunteering in my community. A long-term position with a wonderful family where we can build a strong partnership based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect is my desire.

Ms. Rhonda has been an incredible support to our family. Her help with overnight care allowed me to get the rest I needed so I could show up as the best mom possible for my child. She is caring, attentive, and truly thoughtful in the way she provides care. Knowing my baby was in such capable and compassionate hands gave me complete peace of mind. I am deeply grateful for her and highly recommend her.

I am a 35 years old and have Associates degree in early childhood education and majoring in Psychology at GMU. I've worked at least 11+ years as a caregiver in a variety of settings. I consistently care for toddler nephews and other families occasionally. I have cared for multiple ages up to 12years old and worked as a long-term/short-term substitute teacher at Fairfax County Schools. I do not have any children or pets myself, but enjoy working with children and an animal lover. Coming from a teacher's background with experience in the school workplace, I maintain strong caregiving rules as necessary. I have families that I have worked with more than 3 years or more until they don't need a sitter because they moved or kids have grown up. I lived in Northern VA, since I was young and is very familiar with the area. I would love to build long- term relationships with the family with trust. I can call myself as an honest, caring, responsible, innovative, flexible, and fun person :) Please don't hesitate to contact me! I am fluent in English and Korean.

I am a former Montessori preschool teacher (certified through AMS with 7 years of experience). Currently I am a stay at home mom with a 6 year old son and a 19 month old baby boy. I would like to babysit for a family who is okay with one or both kids being present. Both my kids are very friendly and sociable. My Montessori experience has equipped me to support the development of social skills in group settings. This is a potential benefit to my coming with my own kids when babysitting. I am looking for a school year babysitting position. My older son attends a forest school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-3 in Annandale. I’m looking for babysitting hours during this time. I would have only my 19 month old with me.

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Beatrice. We had her nanny our 2 yo son for about 2 months before the pandemic hit. She then sadly moved away, and we were unable to have her nanny anymore. She is well trained in Montessori and early childhood learning, and she brings her son along while nannying. She is smart and sensitive to the children's needs and really fostered great interaction between her and my son. They really became great friends in such a short amount of time, and I felt that my son learned a lot of wonderful lessons from their interaction. If you have the chance to incorporate her into your childcare -do so. She is really very talented and professional. I just wish we had her with us longer!
