I am very responsible and love working with children. I started out as a babysitter at the age of 12 for some of the families in my neighborhood. I worked at UVA hospital for two summers as a Junior volunteer. During that time, I was assigned to work in the daycare facility caring for 2 year olds. In addition to the hospital, I've spent a few summers in Chicago where I helped my cousin with his children. I spent several weeks with them when their two children were 1 and three, and again the next summer when their son was born. This opportunity gave me valuable experience with both toddlers and newborn infants. They are now four, two, and one year old so I have experience with different ages. I was a teacher cadet during my junior and senior years of high school. As a teacher cadet I worked in Read more a local elementary school for two mornings each week. My first year I worked with kindergarten classes, and the next year with fourth graders. I assisted the teachers in educating in a caring and supportive environment. Along with that, I worked as a nanny last summer for a 6 month old and a 4 year old.
