I grew up in Charlottesville and graduated from the local high school in 2022, right before I jumped headfirst into the world of child care as a nanny. That’s where I discovered how much I love working with kids—helping them explore, play, and learn while building strong, trusting relationships. My curiosity quickly grew into a passion for child development, and I started diving into approaches like RIE, which taught me to respect children as capable humans and encourage independence, and Conscious Discipline, which gave me tools to guide kids through big emotions while creating a positive, supportive environment. In 2024, I joined Our Neighborhood Child Development Center and got to experience the Reggio approach—watching firsthand how kids thrive when they lead their own learning through curiosity and creativity. I worked with infants, supporting feeding, napping, and sensory play, and with toddlers and older children, encouraging problem-solving, emotional growth, and confidence Read more through play and guided activities. This hands-on experience not only strengthened my child development skills but also made me a more confident nanny, giving me even more tools to connect with kids individually and create safe, engaging, and fun spaces for them. Outside of work, I love being outdoors—hiking, exploring local parks, or just enjoying nature—and I’m always up for creative projects, games, and activities that keep life fun, both for me and the kids I work with.
