I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University earning a bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration. Excitingly, I will be walking in my commencement ceremony this May. However, I must complete an internship this summer before I can officially receive my degree. I am excited to intern at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center this summer, but the internship will be unpaid. Thus, I am hoping to earn some money this summer by babysitting, humans or animals! I have been babysitting for as long as I can remember. I started by caring for my youngest cousins at the age of 10. A few years later, I began looking after a set of young twins each workday during the summers, at least one night per week during the school year, and occasional weekends. Caring for the twins and, often times, their friends as well as the family pets provided me with great Read more experience managing multiple children and animals. Additionally, one of the twins suffered from medical issues; therefore, requiring special care. I continued to care for the girls until I was 16 and began working at Panera Bread. During this time, I continued to babysit occasionally for a variety of families with children ranging from 2 to 10. In addition to working and babysitting, I began working towards my degree after graduating from high school in 2014. As a part of this journey, I became a Certified Nurse Aid in 2015. Despite being preoccupied with work and school, I continued to look after children whenever possible. I am comfortable looking after multiple kids as well as children of all ages. I can also cook and will adhere to routines and schedules. I never leave a mess and make sure that toys are put away before beginning a different activity. I am also comfortable with animals. In my family, there were always dogs! Two years ago, I adopted an abandoned kitten and have since cared for him and other young or sick animals. I also have two large fish tanks and recently welcomed an Australian Sheppard puppy into my life! My boyfriend and I live in a two bedroom apartment in the Hickory area of Chesapeake. Neither of us smoke. I drive a Madza 3 and have a valid driver's license. I am willing to commute to jobs, transport children (if car/booster seats are provided), or even have children at my home.
