Our nanny, Sumetta, is looking for a new family. Sumetta has cared for my two boys now ages 7 and 5 for 4 years. Now that the little one will be going to kindergarten we are no longer in need of a full-time nanny. She is absolutely wonderful. Here are a few things to recommend her: 1) She really loves children and you can see this in the way she interacts with them. When she is with our kids she is on the floor playing with them and always attentive to them and engaging them. She is very warm and loves to laugh with them, but she is also firm when needed and sets boundaries. 2) She is great about keeping them active. She takes them to the park, the pool, to museums, the library and library story time, kids plays and concerts, and out for walks or to ride Read more their bikes. She has lots of energy and can keep up with my boys. At home she makes sure that the older one practices piano and that they both read. 3) She is completely reliable and highly organized. 4) She is flexible. My work sometimes requires me to be stay late at the office or to leave home earlier than usual. She is almost always able to work with my schedule. 5) She has tons of experience with children. She was an au pair for 2 years prior to working for us. In Thailand she spent some time working at a pre school. My kids absolutely love her. Ideally we hope that she can find a family to work with in the morning so that she can continue to care for my boys in the afternoon. However, we want her to find the best situation for her and to be happy with the family she finds. Any family would be lucky to have her.
